ViewsParasternal Long-Axis View (PLAX):
The transducer is placed at the left parasternal border (3rd-4th intercostal space). This view displays the left ventricle, left atrium, aortic root, aortic valve, mitral valve, and interventricular septum in a longitudinal plane. It's ideal for assessing left ventricular wall thickness, chamber dimensions, valve morphology, and left ventricular outflow tract.Parasternal Short-Axis Views (PSAX):
Obtained by rotating the transducer 90 degrees from the PLAX position. Multiple levels are imaged:
Aortic valve level: Shows aortic valve, pulmonary valve, tricuspid valve, right ventricular outflow tract, and interatrial septum
Mitral valve level: Displays mitral valve opening in "fish mouth" appearance
