The transducer is placed at the left parasternal border (3rd-4th intercostal space). It's ideal for assessing left ventricular wall thickness, chamber dimensions, valve morphology, and left ventricular outflow tract.Parasternal Short-Axis Views (PSAX):
Obtained by rotating the transducer 90 degrees from the PLAX position. Multiple levels are imaged:
